Unlocking The Confusion

“He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him.”  (Ephesians 1:9 NAS)

I don’t know about you but I find life pretty baffling at times.  Whether trying to make my marriage work, raising kids, my career, health, this blog.  Frankly there are a lot times I just don’t get it.

I look around at other people who seem to have it so much more together.  And I think, “What’s wrong with me?  They seem so much further ahead.”

Often it’s easy to give up.  I think, “I’m just not smart enough, talented enough or spiritual enough to break through.”

And you know what that’s probably true.  But also it doesn’t fix anything.

Which is when I remember that God promised he would unlock all of the mysteries of this life.  He would reveal to me his secrets.  He would give me a behind the scenes tour.

Yet, he doesn’t do this begrudgingly because I bug him enough or live perfectly enough or have amazing faith.  He lets me in on inside track just because he loves me and it brings him a whole lot of pleasure to see me happy.

Kind of like the joy we feel when we see our kids happy.

And you know what else?  It works.  I can’t tell you how but I’ve had so many mysteries unlocked I count on it now.
