Let’s Celebrate

“He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.”  (Ephesians 1:6   The Message)

We’re all bombarded by the negative.  Assaulted by news sensationalized to make us angry or afraid.

Pressured with our jobs, health, marriage, kids, finances.

Then when we finally tune out and settle down to watch TV we see more hatred and mayhem in an evening than most soldiers will see in a tour of duty.

And it leaves us down, depressed and upset.

So we’re told to just think positively.  Put on a smile.  Send out positive vibes into the universe so they come back to us in positive actions.

And while given with the best intention there are days it simply doesn’t work.  I know.  I’ve been there.

But this passage guides us to something different.  Something with real power.

Focus instead on the amazing power and love God has given us as his child.

He is all powerful and uses that power out of love for our good.

He is with us always and we’re never outside of his love.

We’re never alone and even when apart from other people we can feel his presence.

He hears and answers our prayers.

And no matter what we’re going through now we will live with him forever where there is no more sorrow.

And if that doesn’t unleash praise?  Well, try it again.

Joy comes from focus not circumstances.
