“The Lord brought me out of my difficulties into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delights in me.” (Psalm 18: 19)

Father,

   Thank you that you have always brought me out of my difficulties into a spacious place,

      And no matter what challenges I face you are leading me into your promised blessings.

   Be with me in my challenges that seem overwhelming, lead me into your spacious place,

      In the the midst of difficulties help me focus on that place so I will see your blessings.

“My enemies attacked me when I was in distress but the Lord protected and supported me.”  (Psalm 18: 18)

Father,

   Thank you that when I have been the most vulnerable you have been the most supporting.

      No matter what distress I face or enemy who attacks your power is greater.

   Be with me when I’m distressed, protect me when I’m vulnerable,

      Fill me with confidence in your power that will overcome all.

“The Lord reached down from Heaven and took hold of me; he pulled me out of the deep waters.”  (Psalm 18: 16)

Lord,

   Thank you that when I’ve been in deep waters you’ve taken hold of me and pulled me out.

      You watch over me, ready to rescue me whenever I’m overwhelmed.

   Rescue me from the deep waters I face today.  Take hold of my hand and pull me out.

      Let me feel your presence so I may rest in the confidence of your power and love.

“I call out to the Lord, who is worthy of all praise, and he saved me from my enemies.” (Psalm 18: 3)

Lord,

   When I have called out to you, you have saved me from all my enemies and I praise you.

      I know you’re with me, watching over and protecting me, from enemies who would hurt me.

   Keep me safe from those who’d hurt me, protect me from those who’d harm me.

      Give me your peace that grows out of my confidence in your unconquerable power.

“God is my high place in whom I take refuge; my shield, my savior and my fortress tower.” (Psalm 18: 2)

God,

   You’ve always protected me, kept me safe, guarded me and I praise you for it.

      And today I know, because you’re my savior, you guard me every moment.

   Surround me with your power, envelop me in your love, shield me with your safety,

      Fill me with your confidence, overcome my fears so I can clearly see your power.

“I love you Lord, you are my strength.”  (Psalm 18: 1)

Lord,

   How I love you.  When I have felt weak you have given me your strength.

      And I praise you that day by day you fill me with your power.

   Fill me today with the strength I need for today,

      And help me rest knowing you will give me strength again for tomorrow.
