You’re Invited to Live with God Forever

“Because of your limitless love I am invited to enter your house.” (Psalm 5: 7)

We deserve to dwell outside but God, in his love, invites each of us in.

Father,

Thank you that you have invited me to live with you,

I don’t deserve it and can never earn it,

But your love never excludes only invites.

Let me live with you in your great house,

Today, so I may see your abundant blessings,

And tomorrow, so I may experience them forever.

Amen

You Have an Unlimited Inheritance

“Ask of me and I will give you an unlimited inheritance.”  (Psalm 2: 8)

No matter how meager your earthly inheritance your heavenly one is unlimited.

Father,

Sometimes I fixate on all I wish for instead of all I have,

Yet, you offer me all good and perfect things,

      An inheritance beyond limits.

Help me to rest in the confidence of your inheritance,

Open my eyes with the expectation of your riches,

Fill my life with the inheritance you delight to give.

Amen

Surrounded by God’s Grace and Love

“Give thanks to the Lord.  His mercy and loving kindness lasts forever.” (1 Chronicles 16:34)

No matter how far from God you feel,  his love and grace surround you forever.

Lord,

Thank you that even when I’ve wandered from you,

your mercy and kindness never wanders from me.

Help me to rest from my wandering,

   content in your loving kindness,

at peace that it lasts forever.

Amen

When God Reached Down in Love

“Today, in the town of David, your Savior has been born, he is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11)

Instead of requiring you to reach up to him, God reached down to you in love.

Father,

I praise you that you love me so much you would send your only son to be my Savior.

I release my life into your love and guidance.  And rest in the grace of your love.

Amen

Gifts Greater Than All of Your Needs

“All praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us from the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” (Ephesians 1:3)

Our needs may seem great, yet, pale in comparison to God’s blessings from Heaven.

Father,

Thank you that your gifts from heaven simply dwarf all of my needs.

Help me to focus on your gifts more than my needs.  That I may see them in all of their fullness.

Amen

Forgiven and Accepted Forever

“There is no condemning of those who have forgiveness in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1)

We may fail, but we’re forgiven and accepted.  Forever.

Father,

Thank you for your forgiveness that I don’t deserve and could never earn.

Fill me with the peace of your forgiveness and the confidence of your acceptance.

Amen

Grace and Love for our Failures

“God is filled with mercy and grace.  Not easily angered, rich in love.” (Psalm 103:8)

We may fall short.  God’s love and grace makes up the distance.

Father,

Thank you for your love and grace.  That when I fail you love me anyway.

Help me to rest in your grace.  And fill me with your love.

Amen

Your Eternal Victory

“Death has been swallowed up in victory.” (1 Corinthians 15:54)

Death, the great divider, has become the great reuniter.

Father,

Thank you that in you I no longer need to fear death.   But can look forward to the reunion.

Give me your peace when facing a loved one’s passing.  And thinking of my own someday.

I will live in the confidence you give, that death truly is swallowed up in victory.

Amen

Free At Last

“There is now no condemning judgement for those who rest in the grace of our Lord Jesus.” (Romans 8:1)

We are free from judgement not because we’re perfect enough.  But because Jesus was.

Lord,

Thank you that in you I am truly free.  Free from judgement.  Free to live life fully.

Give me your freedom.  Help me rest in your grace.  And live in your peace.

And I will go out filled with your confidence knowing I am covered by your love.

Amen

You are Set Free

“You are free from condemnation when you live in the forgiveness and grace of Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1)

Jesus,

Thank you that I’m free from the tyranny of condemnation.  Forgiven and accepted by your grace.

And I can live freely in your love and grace never again fearing condemnation.

Give me your freedom.  Fill me with your peace.  Help me rest in your grace.

Forgive me for my past failures.  And for, at times, not resting in your forgiveness.

Fill me with confidence in your grace, no longer plagued by the tyranny of fear.

I praise you for your grace that has forgiven my past and sets me free for the future.

Amen.
